What are eyelash extensions?
A process in which a single natural eyelash is isolated and a high quality synthetic lash or hand made volume fan is applied approximately 1mm away from the eyelid to enhance and extend.
How long does it take to apply a set of eyelash extensions?
The application process can vary depending on treatment.
Classic and Hybrid extensions will take around 2 hours.
Volume extensions will take between 2-3 hours.
How long do lash extensions last?
This all depends on your lash cycle, lash care, life style, weather and maintenance. It can vary with each individual. Infills are recommended every 2-3 weeks.
What is an infill?
An infill is when grown out lashes are removed and new eyelash extensions are added to your regrowth.
Typically clients get infills every 2-3 weeks. You may need them more or less often depending on how well you look after your extensions and your natural lash cycle.
Please do not leave infill appointments longer than 3 weeks due to your natural lash growth cycle.
How long does an infill take?
An infill can take between 60-90 minutes.
What is classed as an infill?
You must have at least 40-50%Â of your existing set left to qualify as an infill. That's roughly 35-40 lashes on each eye.
Can I wear contact lenses?
No, These must be removed before a lash lift or eyelash extension treatment. They can be put back in straight after the treatment.
Why must I have a patch test?
A patch test is preformed at least 48 hours before your treatment. This is to check you don't have an allergic reaction to the adhesive. However please bare in mind, these results may not always be accurate. an allergic reaction may still occur, even if the results were negative.
If after your appointment you experience any discomfort, swelling or redness in the eye area please refer to a GP immediately and have the lash extensions removed. You should never ignore any symptoms of an allergic reaction, as it may lead to serious health issues
if not treated.
Why do I have a consultation before my treatment?
A consultation is when a patch test is performed and to discuss with you your desired look, length, thickness, and long terms goals for eyelash extensions. I will also advise you what sort of length and thickness I recommend your natural lashes could handle.
How to prepare for my appointment?
We request that all clients arrive for their appointments with no eye makeup or contact lenses.Â
Please arrive for your infill appointment with clean lashes.
How do I clean my lash extensions?
Use Johnsons foam baby shampoo and a clean make up brush. Apply the shampoo gently to the lashes, using the brush massage the shampoo in to the lashes, under the lashes and around the eye. Rinse thoroughly with water, pat dry and brush.
Do eyelash extensions damage my natural lashes?
No. When applied correctly by a trained eyelash technician they will not damage your natural lashes.Â
Following correct aftercare by not rubbing, picking and pulling your eyelash extensions, this will help avoid damaging your lashes. Each extension will fall out attached to your natural lash with your natural lash cycle.
Do you infill other last artist's work?
This all depends on the application of your existing lashes. At your consultation I will assess your lashes and make a decision. If I'm not happy with your previous Lash Artists application, I will recommend a removal and reapplication of lash extensions.
Does an eyelash extension procedure hurt?
No, you wont feel any pain. You will be required to keep your eyes closed for the duration of your treatment.
How can I make my lash extensions last?
Follow your aftercare correctly and have regular infills every 2-3 weeks.
What is a lash lift?
A lash lift is a lash treatment that will give you length, volume and lift to your natural lashes, lasting 6-8 weeks. Lifted from the root and tinted to give you a defined lash look. Low maintenance and long lashing, a perfect alternative to eyelash extensions.
This treatment will take approximately 1 hour.
